Ann Shulgin is an American psychotherapist and wife of chemist Alexander Shulgin. Together they wrote about the synthesis and use of hundreds of psychedelic compounds.
"We met, married and formed a research team about twenty five years ago. This called upon a background of psychedelic drug invention and exploration of the previous twenty years, but it added a new dimension to this area of exploration.
Alexander Shulgin, the most prolific psychedelic chemist in history, has died at the age of 88. I interviewed Shulgin and his wife and co-researcher Ann at their home in California in 1999, when I was researching my 2003 book Rational Mysticism.
