Frederick Alexander

Frederick Matthias (F. M.) Alexander (1869–1955) was an Australian actor. When he began to lose his ability to speak on stage and medical diagnoses failed to fix the problem, Alexander embarked on his own journey of self-discovery, which uncovered the relationship between anatomy and postural habits. With these insights, Alexander developed the Alexander Technique, which serves to overcome habitual limitations in movement.
