Julie Schwartz Gottman, PhD, is an American psychologist widely known for her clinical research in relationship health and stability. She cofounded The Gottman Institute with her husband, John Gottman, to help couples, parents, and mental health professionals promote healthy relationships.
In all kinds of relationships, people have conflict and disagreements and hurt one another's feelings. What determines the success of the relationship is the way people deal with conflict, the nature of their friendship and intimacy, and their shared meaning system.
Drs. John & Julie Gottman discuss the importance of "Raising An Emotionally Intelligent Child". They talk about what the research shows and the tools that parents can use to help their child (ren) develop emotional intelligence or EQ.
