Melanie Joy

Melanie Joy, MEd, PhD, is an American social psychologist, author, relationship coach, speaker, and expert on the psychology of eating animals. She first coined the term “carnism” to describe the belief system that accompanies the consumption of meat and meat products. She advocates for increased healthy communication and discussion across populations about the foods we choose to eat and why.
