Mircea Eliade



Mircea Eliade, PhD (1907–1986), was a Romanian scholar and pioneer in the systematic study of the history of the world’s religions. As one of the world’s most influential scholars and foremost interpreters of religious symbolism and myth, he is particularly known for his theories of religion concerning the sacred and profane.
