Mona Polacca, MSW, is an America-born author, educator, and advocate for social justice and a Hopi/Havasupai/Tewa spiritual elder. She is a member of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers and has served on several United Nations committees on indigenous peoples’ issues. She is also the president of the Turtle Island Project, a nonprofit program that provides transcultural training to individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
