Neem Karoli Baba (d. 1973) was an Indian guru and a devotee of the Hindu deity Hanuman. As a spiritual master he encouraged service to others as the highest form of unconditional devotion to God. He became the teacher for many Americans who travelled to India in the 1960s and ’70s, including Ram Dass and Krishna Das, and over one hundred ashrams have been constructed in his name.
