Ruth Denison
Ruth Denison (1922–2015) was an American Buddhist meditation teacher. She brought Vipassana meditation to the West and was the fist woman teacher endowed by U Ba Khin in Burma. She opened Dhamma Dena Desert Vipassana Center in Joshua Tree, California in 1976, and lived there until her death in 2015.
