Positive Thinking



Positive thinking is much more than just having an upbeat attitude or pretending to be happy; it’s a state of mind where a person intentionally endeavors to focus on the beneficial aspects of any given situation. While the concept has gotten some bad press over the years, the point is not to turn a blind eye to life’s problems or trials, but rather to look at them creatively and find the hidden possibilities in what might, on its face, be an impossible situation. When the mind is trapped in the negative, it can be very difficult to think around corners or find solutions to the problems in front of us. In these situations, a positive mindset can open us to a broader range of options. And for those of us who feel stuck in permanent negative mode, the good news is that, according to psychological studies, positive thinking is a skill that can be learned.
