Adoption

Adoption is a process that involves a guardian or guardians legally assuming parental responsibility for a child. Regardless of the method of adoption—open, closed, international, embryo, transracial, foster care, or adult—the process is usually long, expensive, and stressful. After the joy and exhilaration when the process is complete and legal, there’s a host of small and large adjustments to navigate that can last for years or an entire lifetime.
