Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a technique that uses tools and machines to monitor the body’s involuntary systems such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow so that we might better understand and influence them. Many biofeedback tools are fairly simple and easily recognized—like blood pressure cuffs and thermometers—while others are more sophisticated, such as MRI scanners. The data generated from biofeedback allows us to identify certain stressful triggers and provides evidence on effective ways to reduce the impact of those triggers.
