Cannabis/CBD

Commonly known as marijuana or weed (among many other names), cannabis is commonly smoked, vaporized, or used in edibles either recreationally for relaxation or medically to treat conditions such as glaucoma, chronic pain, and anxiety. The two most popular compounds extracted from cannabis are THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)—which gives the feeling of “high,” relaxation, and focus—and CBD (cannabidiol), which reduces inflammation, migraines, anxiety, and seizures. Cannabis consumption can also have negative effects such as paranoia, confusion, lethargy, and addiction. Cannabis remains illegal in most parts of the world, though it is increasingly legalized for medical use, and its legalization of its recreational use is growing in popularity in the US.
