Exercise

Exercise, meaning physical activity to increase heart rate and work our muscles, is an essential and inviting part of our health. Aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking or bicycling, improves your body’s use of oxygen. Using large muscle groups helps strength and stamina. Anaerobic exercise, such as weight lifting, involves short, intense bursts of energy and doesn’t use oxygen, but builds muscle and strength. Agility exercise, such as tennis or soccer, builds hand-eye coordination and responsiveness. Stretching exercise, such as yoga or Pilates, improves balance, posture, circulation and flexibility. Regular exercise of all four types has been found to reduce our chances of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, and many other health challenges.
