Feminism



While feminism has traditionally been a social and political movement of women’s empowerment in a largely patriarchal world, it is fundamentally the belief in and work towards gender equality. Feminist movements have embraced varied ideologies and perspectives, exploring the complex impact that gendered hierarchy has with class, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender expression. The common theme is that when we remove the cultural hierarchy of gender, we not only remove social, political, economic, and personal limitations on women, nonbinary, and agender individuals, we remove limitations on men. When all genders have equal access to social spaces, institutional resources, and legal protections, everyone benefits.
