Gender Discrimination

Gender discrimination occurs whenever people are denied equal access to opportunities, resources, legal rights, or social spaces based on their gender identification or expression. Gender discrimination is most commonly and pervasively against women, transgender, nonbinary, and agender individuals, but there are also harmful examples of gender discrimination against men, such as lack of standard paternity leave in the United States. Confronting how our identities have been shaped living in societies that limit us due to our genders can be a way to challenge our own self-limiting beliefs and energize us towards breaking the pattern of limiting others.
