Our “inner life” is a colorful way to refer to our sense of self as reflected in our ability to examine and accurately track the many facets of who we are as an individual: our thoughts, hopes, dreams, feelings, beliefs, and instincts; our “good” parts and our “bad;” and our spiritual, physical, and relational health. A healthy inner life is generally regarded as one where we have a fair control over our emotions, good self-awareness, and clarity about our values and purpose.
