Kinesiology

Kinesiology can refer to both to biomechanics (the scientific study of body movement) or to the practice of muscle strength testing (also known as applied kinesiology, or AK), where a practitioner manipulates a client’s body to diagnose and treat various physical or energy-based injuries or deficiencies. The theory underlying applied kinesiology is that muscles are linked to various organs and glands within the body, and that muscle weaknesses or strengthening can diagnose or treat ailments within those connected parts. It was developed by chiropractor George Goodheart Jr. in 1964.
