The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a questionnaire taken in order to assess personality traits based on psychological preferences in how one perceives the world and makes decisions. The self-reported answers help place a person within four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. One letter from each category is taken to produce a four-letter test result, like “INFJ” or “ENFP.” Like all personality typing systems, the Myers-Briggs system is not a scientific classification, but a framework to help people find ways to describe themselves and interact in more effective ways.
