Post-Traumatic Growth

Post-traumatic growth is a term coined by psychologists Richard Tedeschi and Lawrence Calhoun in the mid-1990s to describe the positive life changes that often come about in the wake of traumatic events. While traumatic experiences always leave people with great physical and emotional stress, many also find themselves growing in appreciation for their own strengths, as well as in compassion for others and gratitude for all that they have and are.
