Social Presence

Social presence is the state in which one exists and holds space for themselves, and others, within their experience. Having “presence” is often associated with a captivating state of being that is felt by others when they come into contact with you. Often presence is associated with being grounded in your own body and experience, but this is not necessarily true: one can have a joyful or grounded presence, but one can also have an anxious or angry presence. Developing and holding a positive social presence is a skill that can be developed with practice.
