South American Shamanism

Indigenous shamanistic practices of South America have gained great attention among Western mystics and spiritual seekers within the last few decades, thanks in large part to interest in the traditional consumption of ayahuasca, psilocybin-containing fungi, and other psychedelic substances for spiritual and physical cleansing. However, these complex healing traditions should not be reduced merely to these consumption rituals; they are only one part of a great variety of diverse Indigenous sacred traditions throughout South America. We’ve started gathering valuable information on this topic, but haven’t yet curated the findings.
