Vedic Meditation



Vedic meditation is an ancient, mantra-based practice derived from the Vedas—the oldest Hindu scriptures, which provide the basis for yoga and Ayurvedic medicine. In this practice, a repeated word or phrase is meant to settle thoughts and to focus energy and attention on the present moment. Unlike a mantra meditation, however, the goal is not focus, concentration, or contemplation: it is quieting of the mind.
