In the beginning, it was difficult to let myself rest, even with the ultimate doctor’s note. I felt like I still had to push past my (extremely limited) capabilities. I had to practice slowing down and allowing my frailties to become visible even when I had the choice to hide them.
An in-person semester means a more eventful college lifestyle and an outbreak of widespread perfectionism.
Good teachers helped me to achieve success. I was able to overcome autism because I had good teachers.
I am becoming increasingly concerned that intellectually gifted children are being denied opportunities because they are being labeled either Asperger’s or high functioning autism.
