Daisaku Ikeda is a Japanese Buddhist philosopher and interpreter of Nichiren Buddhism as well as a noted peace activist and advocate for nuclear disarmament. He is the founding president of Soka Gakkai International, the largest lay Buddhist organization in the world, following Soka Gakkai, which is the largest of the new Japanese religious movements.
