The creation of LSD was unlikely. On April 19, 1943, young chemist Albert Hoffmann took the first intentional acid trip of all time. He came out of the experience realizing he had creating something extraordinary. Thousands of psychedelic users worldwide now commemorate this epic day as Bicycle Day.

Mark is the chair of MAPS Canada, and has been educating people about all aspects of drugs for decades. We talk MAPS research with MDMA and trauma, but also harm reduction strategies, speaking to youth about drugs, and strategies for the future of regulating these substances legally.
Mark Haden will explore the history and current research and possible future regulation of psychedelics. He will begin with an overview of indigenous history then explore the history in Canada and why psychedelics were criminalized.
