For kids today from poorer backgrounds, the path I took through education no longer exists.
I learned very early that to survive in this broken world there is a never-ending need to “support, nurture, and protect what we hold dear” to keep it from being damaged, hurt, or destroyed ……which also includes myself.
A lot of children today fall apart when they experience disappointing setbacks.
No matter how great your life may be, you will eventually deal with disappointments, setbacks, failures, and even loss and trauma.
Sage’s birth brought unseen blessings and I’d surreptitiously become a devotee of his teachings. I don’t believe I was his parent so much as he was my teacher. He taught me that love and a mission to serve will move obstacles from any path.
