Jaron Lanier is an American computer scientist, visual artist, computer philosophy writer, and composer. Though he is considered the founder of virtual reality, he now advocates against social media use and the way the internet currently works, encouraging us all to delete our accounts where possible.
Dualism claims reality has two parts, a physical and a nonphysical (mental or spiritual), both equally real. Dualism is believed by most people but rejected by most philosophers and scientists. Featuring interviews with Yujin Nagasawa, Richard Swinburne, Jaron Lanier, Bede Rundle, and Peter Forrest.
Now Lanier is going back to the field where he did his pioneering work in the 1980s: virtual reality. VR has become the new frontier of human engagement with tech, and has become a medium that has transformed surgical trials, aircraft design and the treatment of injured war veterans.
