We cannot separate the importance of a sense of belonging from our physical and mental health.
The need to belong, also known as belongingness, refers to a human emotional need to affiliate with and be accepted by members of a group.
It’s easy to believe that our health is largely the result of our behaviors and habits, but marginalization and isolation are serious public health problems that also affect personal health.
