Many autistic people have trouble making and keeping friends. This has led to the myth that they don’t want friends3. In reality, they long for friendships just like anyone else. But they face unique challenges in forming and maintaining them.
Most autistic people want to and can make friends, though their relationships often have a distinctive air.
We tend to “believe” in the woke-ness that is “performed” for us. “The more vocal you are, the more confident you appear. And because you appear more confident, you seem to have more influence on other people, who believe you’ll be great at practicing what you claim too,” she says.
When a medication is being evaluated to modify the behavior of a person with autism, one must assess the risks versus the benefits.
