The Anat Baniel Method is an alternative and complementary approach to medicine, physical fitness, and physical therapy for children with mental and physical disabilities. This method uses gentle body movements to work within the limitations of the client and retrain the brain to develop new neuropathways, so that these physical limitations may be overcome. The approach was created by Anat Baniel, who worked closely with Moshé Feldenkrais and his bodywork methods.
Anat studied and worked with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais for 11 years. In their work together, Dr. Feldenkrais encouraged Anat to find her own voice. He was adamant that Anat do the work in her own distinct way, which allowed her to fully develop and evolve the Anat Baniel Method.
Supported by the latest brain research, The Anat Baniel Method uses simple, gentle movements and focus to help any child, who has been diagnosed with autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy or other developmental disorders.
The brain's job is to create billions upon billions of new connections and organize them into coherent and effective patterns of movement, thought, emotion, feeling and action. Brain development in children can occur on a higher or lower level.
