Islam



Islam is a monotheistic religion practiced by a quarter of the world’s population. It was established in the seventh century by the prophet Muhammad in what is now Saudi Arabia, and it shares its origins with Judaism and Christianity in recognizing Abraham as patriarch of the faith. Many non-Muslims (Muslim being the term for one of Islamic faith) have been gravely misinformed about Islam as a belief system and as it is practiced today.
