Whether or not the person’s assessment of their behavior is accurate, this mental pressure can result in a persistent emotional state that can sometimes be hard to let go of or move on from. Guilt often combines with feelings of shame, anxiety, frustration, and humiliation, which can further complicate one’s mental state.
