Guilt

Guilt is a state of emotion where a person feels remorse for either doing something they feel they should not have done, or for not doing something they believe they should have. Whether or not the person’s assessment of their behavior is accurate, this mental pressure can result in a persistent emotional state that can sometimes be hard to let go of or move on from. Guilt often combines with feelings of shame, anxiety, frustration, and humiliation, which can further complicate one’s mental state.
